IBRAF General Director Nurullah ÖZTÜRK Attended the International Conference “Regulation of Media in a Digital, Mobile and Social Environment: Adapting, Reforming, Rebuilding"
IBRAF General Director Nurullah ÖZTÜRK attended, as a guest of Moroccan High Authority of Audiovisual Communication (HACA), the international conference “Regulation of media in a digital, mobile and social environment: Adapting, reforming, rebuilding" which was held in Rabat at 30-31 January.
Regulatory authority officials and experts shared their views on the topics “Renewing regulation in a digital and globalized environment, traditional media and new media: competition dynamics and regulation constraints, Self-regulation and Co-regulation: Are they the future?, Media regulation and citizens’ aspirations”.
Beside from IBRAF, some other regulatory authority representatives and institutions such as Africa Communication Regulatory Authorities Network (ACRAN), Francophone Media Organizers Network (REFRAM) also attended the conference. General Director ÖZTÜRK made a presentation at the third panel which was reserved for the topic "Self-regulation and Co-regulation: are they future?". Mr. ÖZTÜRK's presentation titled "Self-Regulation and Co-regulation in the Digital Age: The Case of Turkey" included the RTÜK's practices on self-regulation and co-regulation.
The conference ended with a cultural tour organized by HACA for all participants.
